Methods
Draft public methods for this prototype. They describe the standard. They are not a certification, and they are not legal advice.
What this publication promises
Here is what can be established, who says what, what remains unresolved, and where to inspect the evidence.
This is not a promise of unbiased news. Selection and judgment remain. The promise is transparent methods, consistent standards, broad evidence, and accountable corrections.
The International Fact-Checking Network and the Society of Professional Journalists are design references, not a claim of certification.
Four kinds of writing
Established fact is a narrow statement tied to a document, dataset, recording, official record, or direct reporting.
An attributed claim names the speaker, the context, and the origin. The attribution stays on the sentence.
Analysis shows the reasoning, the uncertainty, the relevant counterevidence, and the reviewer.
A perspective is an interpretation, forecast, priority, or value judgment. It is labeled, sourced, and never disguised as fact.
Public states
Supported means accessible evidence directly supports the precise wording. It does not mean universally settled.
Single-source means original reporting or testimony exists without adequate independent support. Repetition of the same wire report is not independence.
Disputed means material evidence conflicts, and the strongest competing evidence stays visible.
Unresolved means there is not enough reliable evidence to settle the wording.
Corrected means a previous version changed. The page keeps what changed, when, and why.
Verified is used narrowly. A model’s confidence score does not verify anything. Nothing on this prototype is marked verified.
Perspectives
The heading, when a story has sourced commentary, is: this is how different commentators interpret the evidence.
Each response names its author and links to that analysis. Cited facts stay separate from values.
A viewpoint is omitted when no substantive sourced response exists. Left, Center, and Right are not filled in for balance.
Technical, finance, lifestyle, and entertainment stories use methodological, economic, cultural, scientific, or critical disagreements when that is what exists.
Publication gate
Permitted intake, deduplication, clustering, claim extraction, provenance, evidence review, and attributed analysis produce drafts. They do not publish.
Editor review is the workflow step that can authorize publication. Honest Truth then reviews headline and placement. Tom makes the publication decision.
The gate is closed. No story has been approved. Example labels stay on every news-shaped block until that changes for a specific story.
An editor must be able to demand more evidence, return a claim to unresolved, remove a perspective, stop a story, request a translation review, and publish a correction. That workspace is not built yet.

- 7. Attributed analysis — A draft interpretation. Not connected.
- 8. Editor review — The only workflow step that can authorize publication. Not connected.
- 9. Editor in chief headline and placement review — A recommendation for the front. Not connected.
- 10. Tom / publication gate — The publication decision. Not connected.
- 11. Publication — A public story. Not connected.
- 12. Continuous source watch — A re-review task when evidence changes. Not connected.
- 13. Versioned correction — A visible before-and-after. Not connected.
Corrections
A published factual claim is not silently rewritten. A correction keeps the earlier sentence, the new sentence, the reason, the author, the reviewer, and the time.
The correction ledger on the format specimen is empty because nothing has been published.
Reader correction submissions are not open. There is no tip inbox on this prototype.
Source rights
An accessible website is not a license to scrape, store, translate, or rewrite it. The default intake status is manual link-out only until rights are reviewed.
Permission to read a feed is not permission to copy it, translate it, save its images, analyze it with a model, or republish a rewrite. Each of those is a separate record.
The example source routes on this site are blank entitlement records. They do not point at a retrieved document.
Terms for the BBC, The New York Times, Reuters, Al Jazeera, TASS, and The Washington Post were noted on November 6, 2026 as checkpoints. Those links are not approval to ingest their reporting.
What is not built
There is no source intake, no scraping, no wire ingestion, no email ingestion, and no X integration.
D1, R2, Queues, Workflows, and Cron Triggers are not bound. The visible pages are the prototype. They are not the editorial system of record.
There is no admin dashboard, no Turnstile, no Cloudflare Access policy, and no claim that those controls are in place.
There is no analytics product and no fabricated audience figure. Ownership model, domain, primary geography, launch languages, review capacity, daily volume, and photo budget are open decisions.
